<p>When you think of building muscle, do you imagine a painfully boring diet? I used to, and I know for a fact most of you do too! <p>Protein Fudge Bites</p>
<p>These are awesome post workout teats! Just the punch you need for energy and meeting your protein requirements. Doesn&#8217;t skimp on flavor either! Believe it or not, I found this recipe on the web years ago. I loved it and just had to share it!</p>
<p>8 scoops chocolate protein powder<br /> 1 cup oatmeal (Get the variety you like)<br /> 1/4 &#8211; 1/3 cup natural peanut butter<br /> 3 tbsp honey<br /> 1/3 &#8211; 1/2 cup milk<br /> 3 tbsp crushed peanuts</p>
<p>First mix together the protein, oatmeal, peanut butter, honey and milk. Then roll into small bite size &#8216;chunks&#8217; and then roll in the crushed peanuts to finish. These are very portable and can be frozen for later use.</p>
<p>Nutrition (This is for 1 serving. This recipe makes about 9 &#8211; 10 servings)</p>
<p>234 calories<br /> 6.7 grams fat<br /> 18 grams carbohydrates<br /> 25 grams protein</p>
<p>Pumpkin Pancakes</p>
<p>You need complex carbs as a significant part of your diet. These pancakes should fit the bill.</p>
<p>&frac14; cup oats<br /> 1/3 cup canned pumpkin<br /> 5 egg whites<br /> 1 tbsp ground flax<br /> &frac12; tbsp cinnamon<br /> Add Splenda to taste</p>
<p>Pre-heat frying pan &#8211; leave at medium temperature. Mix ingredients, then drop by spoonful onto the pan. Flip when bubbles form.</p>
<p>Makes 4 &#8211; 5 pancakes</p>
<p>Nutrition</p>
<p>217 calories<br /> 23 grams protein<br /> 26 grams carbohydrates<br /> 4 grams fat</p>
<p>Protein Jell-O</p>
<p>Hey, sometimes you just need to get a bit creative! Sweet, protein packed, and diet safe!</p>
<p>1 package sugar-free Jell-O<br /> 1 scoop of protein powder of taste (Try your best to match the flavors)</p>
<p>Stir in Jell-O powder to 1 cup boiling water. Stir in protein powder until dissolved. Once that&#8217;s finished, mix in one cup of cold water and allow to set. Add low fat Whipped Cream if desired.</p>
<p>Blueberry Cookies</p>
<p>I&#8217;m and absolute fiend when it comes to cookies! I can&#8217;t help it! These were a diet saver for me! Thanks to whoever came up with this recipe! Believe me, we have plenty more recipes to share with you from the <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/build-muscle">Build Muscle</a> Workout series.</p>
<p>2 scoops vanilla protein powder<br /> 4 egg whites<br /> &frac12; cup oats<br /> 1 cup blueberries</p>
<p>Combine all ingredients until blended well. Mix in blueberries and drop by the spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for thirteen minutes. Makes 8 &#8211; 10 cookies.</p>

<p>54 calories<br /> 6.5 grams protein<br /> 0.7 grams fat<br /> 5.5 grams carbs</p>

<p><strong>Gaining Weight After Gastric Bypass? Bad Snacks May be the Cause</strong></p>
<p>As I become acquainted with many of our LivingAfterWLS.com community members I&#8217;m finding that old snacking habits have crept back in to our lives. In my third year post-op I returned to the miserable habit of snacking and snacking on all the wrong foods. Crackers, popcorn, toast, cereal, pretzels, sugar-free candy, granola bars. The unpleasant result of this is I regained some weight, several dumping episodes, vomiting and bouts of fatigue.</p>
<p>According to my bariatric center &#8220;Snacking, nibbling or grazing on foods, usually high-calorie and high-fat foods, can add hundreds of calories a day to your intake, defeating the restrictive effect of your operation. Snacking will slow down your weight loss and can lead to regain of weight.&#8221;</p>
<p>Almost universally the snacks WLS patients admit to eating are high carbohydrate, nutritionally void processed foods. In order to maintain weight loss after gastric bypass successful patients avoid these poor snack choices:</p>
<li>Pretzels, potato chips, corn chips</li>
<li>Crackers &#8211; sweet or savory</li>
<li>Trail mix, sunflower seeds, nuts</li>
<li>Cookies, cakes, pies, pastries</li>
<li>Popcorn</li>
<li>Sugar-Free Sweets (except Jell-o)</li>
<li>Granola</li>
<li>Full-fat, full-sugar frozen desserts (ice cream, frozen yogurt, frozen custard)</li>
<li>Smoothies</li>
<li>Foods containing butter or mayonnaiseWhat you will notice about the poor snack choices is that most are nutritionally void foods &#8211; they do nothing to feed your body the vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs to function well. In addition when grazed upon many of these foods can be consumed in large quantities by gastric bypass patients. It&#8217;s called the &#8220;soft foods phenomena&#8221;. When WLS patients eat soft foods (think crackers) which mix with stomach fluids a slurry results. This mixture passes through the pouch into the bypassed intestine allowing for steady intake without satiation. In addition, these foods may cause dumping or vomiting.
<p>You may be surprised to see trail mix and granola on the foods to avoid list as they are well known &#8220;health foods.&#8221; It&#8217;s true trail mix and granola are nutritionally dense but most bariatric patients report a low tolerance for nuts, seeds and raisins. In addition many of these foods contain hidden sugars.</p>

<p><strong>Are Your Prescription Medications Making You <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/gain-weight">Gain Weight</a>?</strong></p>
<p>Struggling to lose weight and not getting anywhere? Maybe gaining weight on medications? Are your prescription medications slowing your weight loss?</p>
<p>Prescription drugs are common source of weight problems or at least difficulty losing weight. The fall into two large categories:</p>
<p>1. Anti-depressants, Mood Stabilizers, Anti-Psychotic Drugs: These Drugs Lead the Way in Weight Difficulties: Overall-25% chance of gaining weight</p>
<p>The earliest antidepressants drugs including Elavil, Tofranil, and Zyprexa (an anti-psychotic drug) are a source of significant weight changes. Other old drugs including Parnate, Nadil and Remeron, also have significant weight problems.. Newer antidepressants have less potential for weight groblems.. The new anti-depressants Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac and Effexor are the newer drugs with a <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/weight-gain">Weight Gain</a> potential, but not as great a the older drugs. Wellbutin is an anti-depressant that is not in the SSRI group and does not cause weight gain. In fact weight loss has been reported. Newer drugs like Celexia and Lexapro cause the least weight gain in this group. Some researchers feel the weight changes my be due to improvement in the depression.</p>
<p>2.Steroids, Estrogens, Diabetic and Blood Pressure Drugs</p>
<p>Numerous other drugs have been associated with unusual weight changes. The estimate is there are more than 50 drugs known to cause weight gain. These drugs are well known causes of weight problems and include: Steroids: both legal and illegal, this includes prednisone, testosterone, and estrogens.</p>
<p>Corticosteroid Drugs Include:</p>
<p>Betamethasone (Celestone)<br />
Cortisone (Cortone) Dexamethasone (Decadron)<br />
Hydrocortisone (Cortef)<br />
Methylprednisolone (Medrol)<br />
Prednisolone (Prelone)<br />
Prednisone (Deltasone)<br />
Budesonide (Entocort EC<br />
Anabolic Steriods (most are illegal)<br />
Testosterone<br />
Diababol<br />
Methyl-testosterone<br />
Fluroxytestosterone.<br />
Diabetic Drugs Causing Weight Problems.<br />
Insulin may cause hypoglycemia (low-blood sugar), which stimulates appetite.</p>
<p>Sulfonylureas &#8212; such as Diabinese (chlorpropamide), Amaryl (glimepiride), Glucotrol (glipizide), and DiaBeta or Glynase (glyburides) &#8212; The thiazolidinediones &#8212; Actos (pioglitazone) and Avandia (rosiglitazone)- produce fluid retention and the increase accumulation of fat inside of fat cells.</p>
<p>High Blood Pressure Drugs Cause Weight Problems:<br />
Some beta blockers, especially the older ones, such as atenolol (Tenormin) and metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol-XL) can cause an average weight gain of about 5 lbs. Newer beta blockers, such as carvedilol have less weight gain potential</p>
<p>Avapro, a newer anti-hypertensive agent has been report to produce both weight problems: gain and weight loss.<br />
Other, non beta blocker, high blood pressure drugs that may cause weight gain or difficulty losing weigh include:<br />
Cardura (doxazosin),Hytrin (terazosin),Minipress (prazosin), Altace(ramipril),<br />
Lotensin (benazepril), Vasotec (enalapril), Prinivil(lisinopril). Zestril<br />
Atacand (candesartan). Cozaar (losartan)<br />
Migraine Medications Cause Weight Gain</p>
<p>Other Drugs Causing Weight Gain</p>
<p>Valproic acid (VPA), Gabapentin<br />
Reported Weight problems in a few other drugs:<br />
Antihistamines such as Nytol Benadryl (diphenydramine)<br />
Antibiotics such as Bactrim or Levoquin Anti seizure medication: depakote</p>
<p>What to do if you suspect your medications may play a role in weight gain or even just difficult weight loss?</p>
<p>First, never stop them cold turkey. That may be even worse. Keeping in mind that everyone responds to these drugs differently, switching from one to another one can often can lessen the weight problems. You need to see your personal physician who prescribed the drugs to make the correct changes.</p>
<p>Other means to prevent weight gain may simply be adding the same modalities people without medical problems use to treat their obesity. This includes limiting high calorie foods, especially carbs, as well as exercising. Exercise, especially has great benefits for depression.</p>

<p><strong>Carbs in Watermelon &#8211; Can They Make You Fat?</strong></p>
<p>The carbs in watermelon can be confusing if you are trying to eat healthy, lose belly fat, or just keep your blood sugar level stable. But before we get to the carbs let&#8217;s take a close look at this popular summertime fruit.</p>

<p>Watermelon is packed with these powerful antioxidants:</p>

<li>Vitamin A (beta carotene)</li>
<li>Lycopene</li>
</ol>
<p>Lycopene has been found in human studies to be effective in preventing some cancers. Among these are prostate, breast, colon, endometrial, and lung cancers. Watermelon and green tea have been found to be a powerful combination in helping to prevent prostate cancer.</p>
<p>Watermelon is also packed with B vitamins that are necessary in energy production. It is a good source of:</p>

<p>So, what about the carbs in watermelon? 1 cup of watermelon has 11.5 grams of carbohydrate and 0.6 grams of dietary fiber. The net carbs in watermelon is 10.6 grams. The confusion starts when we consider the glycemic index of watermelon. The glycemic index is a newer way of looking at carbohydrates. It measures how quickly and how far your blood sugar rises after eating food with carbohydrates. So, when a carbohydrate is digested and broken down quickly your blood sugar level rises quickly and the glycemic index of the food is higher.</p>

<p>Watermelon is 103! But don&#8217;t throw out the watermelon just yet. The glycemic index does not take into account the relative amount of carbohydrate in a particular food. Watermelon contains a lot of water! There is actually very little carbs in watermelon per serving. You would have to eat quite a large serving of watermelon to consume many carbs.</p>
<p>So, to confuse matters a little more we have the glycemic load which takes into account both the carbohydrate content and the effect on blood sugar levels. The glycemic load of watermelon is 4. This is less than apples, oranges, peaches and other fruits.</p>
<p>The carbs in watermelon aren&#8217;t going to make you fat. You simply would become too full before you consumed enough watermelon to have a significant effect. The carbs in watermelon should really not be of concern and is no reason to omit this nutrient packed food from your diet.</p>

<p>Losing weight frightens most people when people are well plumped. When these people are seen, they will say, &#8220;you look healthy&#8221;. The ignorance lies in a character of the substance that composes a certain proportion of the weight of many people. This is due to the body type and bone structure of an individual determines the weight of the person. This is followed by the erroneous belief, arising from false teaching, as to keep the weight up to a good-size figure believing it has beneficial effect on their health.</p>
<p>Medical doctors want you to stuff your body with food to keep the weight up. Sick people should eat freely and frequently of &#8220;good, nourishing food&#8221;. These Medical Doctors still believe the systems will disappear if the weight is put on again. If a person has tuberculosis of the lungs feeding the person several times a day with meat, milk and eggs must stop the weight loss.</p>
<p>My associates treated a twelve-year-old girl suffering from consumption. She was seeing a regular medical doctor who prescribed care for the girl and was to be fed four times a day of beef, milk, and soft-boiled eggs. Her mother brought the girl to my associates due to decline in health. I have heard this before and read many case studies and numerous papers of this procedure. We suggested a fast, to be followed by a diet of oranges, grapefruit, apples and grapes.</p>
<p>When told of our procedure, the lady was animated with worry, because she thought to be fed on worthless watery food as oranges and grapefruits would weaken her more. I informed my associates to be careful in explaining her condition to the parents. We gave the cause and the remedy to be used. The mother was told that continued feeding as suggested by the medical doctors would cause her demise. We told her of many case studies of successful treatments of our approach to wellness. We could not convince the mother, and she continued to feed the girl on beef, milk and eggs until she fell onto her death. She felt the passing of her daughter was in the Hand of Providence.</p>
<p>This is an example of the ignorance that laymen have been taught. This ignorance saves the medical practice from dying and passing into history, as a relic of the Dark Ages. We told you in our last installment that over working the digestive process with a high protein diet mixed with starch are a death trap especially when the reserves of the body are extremely low. The kind of care to increase the weight of a sick patient is often followed by death. This method of treatment still does not help one single patient in all the years it has been tried.</p>
<p>When weight is increased the health will continued to decrease. Many people have been operated on when their body reserves are low, not giving them time to recover. They are told to put on weight by eating more food. It should now be known that when weight is increased the health would continue to decrease. If the medical profession knew what they were doing, while he was alive, they should have change his diet to rid the body of deadly lard, acids, and toxins that purified the blood with the rich foods we discussed in &#8220;The Great Law Revisited: Digestion.&#8221; If he had fast what is lost is the useless lard, and injurious waste, fluids, and acids piled and packed in the cells, tissues, joints, and bowels are thrown off quickly, when the intake is stopped and that is what happens in a sick body.</p>
<p>The same favorable process of cleansing and elimination will continue when one eats of uncooked fruits and uncooked green vegetables, but not so rapidly as when one is fasting and taking nothing but water. When a man who should weight 120, increases his weight to 160, what is stored is useless lard, accumulated waste, poisonous fluids and injurious acids, not healthy muscle tissue. Look at the professional body builders. Their bodies are filled with toxins, steroids, and unhealthy tissue. Sure they look beautiful, and healthy, by deceit. They do not live long. What happen to the great professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero? Natural causes they say! It was related to artery-sclerotic heart disease. Eddie was taking drugs. What or who killed Elvis, Michael Jackson, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendricks, Janis Joplin, Judy Garland, and Anna Nicole Smith besides themselves, doctors and drugs for some of them.</p>
<p>When the body is sick, there is little appetite. When fasting after three days hunger is no more. Your body will become accustomed to being free from food. It is at rest. The body machine is free from labor of eating, and it turns with vigor to the task of cleansing, and eliminating the cleansing accumulated gruesome matter. The weight of the body decreases fast, as the filth is thrown off, and sickness diminishes in proportion as the body gets cleansed.</p>

Patients have gone back to their doctors and have been examined from their diagnosis, only to discover that they are well again not knowing how or why after following a suggested approach to the diet we have been advocating for cleansing the body.</p>

We know more about our automobiles, and professions, and take better care of them then our own bodies. We take our bodies for granted. David Wolf has said &#8220;Stop eating anything.&#8221; Heed the facts concerning the waistline. Your waistline determines your length of time on this planet, and how well you will be. Stop listening to those fat clergymen, doctors, teachers, and scientist. Take cause in your life to determine your well being.</p>

When seeing a fat person you know they love to eat, otherwise they would not be fat; and they grow fat because of eating in excess of actual needs of the body. Their popular line is that it runs in the family. I was brought up this way. What runs in the family is the love of eating and habit of setting a good table also runs in the family.</p>
<p>A fasting man will not grow fat. When the author has fasted for some time, and people notice a weight lost, they encourage me to eat. During the aid crisis in the seventies, when I was fasting for two months and having a large noticeable weight loss when working in the public sector, people would ask me if I were sick. They remember seeing a large muscular guy and then notice a pronounced change in appearance. I informed them of my fasting procedure and why the approach was taken.</p>

If your abdomen protrudes more at the age of 35 or 40, then it did when at 17 or 19 years when physically active in high school days of sports, you are carrying in your anatomy, a large amount of putrefying waste, being both dangerous and weakening. The mass of filth, lining of the bowels, foul gases and liquids are seeping into the blood which is converged by the blood to all parts of the body; it soon settles in the brain, joints, and cells.</p>

What occurs is the accumulation of waste; overflow, flooding other parts, and seeping into places where it will do great and often irreparable injury. John lives a conventional style, eating modernized foods; foods consisting of dead and decaying flesh, just like the flesh found at McDonald&#8217;s, and in the markets. <p>The markets, eateries, and as you do at home, take the flesh either pickled, peppered, salted, sugared, smoked, spiced, canned, and ground into sausage. Most of the time the sausage is seasoned with all kinds of condiments until its real identity is lost due to the flavor. This process is necessary in order to sell flesh, so old and diseased that it cannot be sold by any other style and eaten by you at home.</p>
<p>Now there is hash which includes all the remnants of various foods left from several meals, chipped, salted, peppered, vinegar, grease, and mixed together till no one, not knowing, can tell what it is compared. I never did like this when my mother put it on the table. My senses told me this was not to be eaten.</p>
<p>Now the other bad foods consist of breads and cakes, made of white flour that has been robbed by the miller of its principle body sustaining elements, and mixed with milk, baking powder, soda, salt, sugar, butter, grease, and baked till it is dry and dead.</p>
<p>Our next bad food are gravies we thought so tasty, delicious over our decaying turkey. This gravy is made of denatured flour, milk, water, grease, butter, salt vinegar, pepper, stirred, and cooked into a splendid paste that can be used for other things to hang items.</p>
<p>We crown our best chief as the one who can concoct the most abominable mixtures. Look at the countless cookbooks. Any body can write a cookbook. Most of the cookbooks do not adhere to proper food combination and break the law of adding protein, starches, and sugar, just like McDonald&#8217;s.</p>
<p>Let us look at the tea, coffee, cocoa, soft drinks, and intoxicants. How about those between meal snack, such as candy, ice cream, peanuts, popcorn, lunches, tobacco, etc. Analysis our trace of this badly digested, denatured, decayed, concentrated, fermenting, mixture along its cause from stomach through the small bowel and into the colon. Most people have experienced the strong stench of the carcass of a dead animal, rotting by the roadside. We must stop our nostrils as we pass, to keep the fearful odor from us. This is far less offensive and repulsive than our awful mixture of festering filth found in a clogged colon. Most of us as children have witnessed vomit of our peers, and considered it very obnoxious, but the putrefying waste in the sewer of the average individual compares to a bowel of fragrant vegetable soup.</p>
<p>We carry this filth in our body from year to year. Not many people know of colon-irrigation, or have had an enema, or had a fast. I have seen medical people break the law of improper food combining, and mixing starches, proteins, and sugars. They do this day in a day our through out the years. Look at the nurses who are obese.</p>
<p>Another look at the American diet is in the supermarket. Most people do not know how to shop for healthy food. There is the question of organic verses inorganic. We will cover this issue at a later date.<br />
Understanding your produce section is very important to the shopper. If you want to be lean, understand the green machine.</p>

<p>In order to understand what this sleep condition is, it is important to understand the effects of obesity on the body. First of all, the heart is the organ that is the most at risk, because that is what pumps the blood all over the body in order to keep it healthy. When a person is obese, the heart will have to work extra hard in order to pump the blood efficiently.</p>
<p>However, many obese people suffer from various kinds of heart problems. If the heart is not pumping efficiently, it then is causing other important areas of the body, such as the brain, to function incorrectly because of a lack of oxygen. It is the brain that controls the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn controls breathing. Sleep apnea is a disorder in which the person stops breathing for a minute or longer at a time while they are asleep.</p>
<p>Sometimes, a person might be awakened by this condition, but he or she will not know that it was because they were not breathing. If the brain continues to lack in oxygen, it can cause brain damage, and even death. So, it is important that the person recognize the signs of this condition before it is too late. The two most prevalent signs are constant forgetfulness, and feeling tired despite having gotten a full night of sleep.</p>
<p>Of course, both of these symptoms can also be indicative of other health problems. So, a sleep study might need to be done on the person to determine whether or not this person does indeed have this sleep disorder. While this sleep disorder can often be rectified by medication, if the patient is obese, then he or she will need to be placed on a diet and exercise plan.</p>
<p>A good diet means eating foods that are high in both nutrients (this means, most prominently, fruits and vegetables) and fiber. The fiber will help to increase the metabolism, which in turn allows a person to lose weight effectively, and get them on the way to the right weight and excellent health.</p>

<p>Now I do not for one moment believe that people with bipolar disorder are stupid, and that they do not understand the relationship between taking medication and staying well. In fact, it is well accepted that folks with bipolar disorder tend to be, if anything, smarter than the average bear.</p>
<p>For the most part, these people are not making naive, capricious or irresponsible decisions. I suspect that for many of us, we go off our meds because we have performed our own personal cost/benefit analysis and decided that because we are managing better we can afford to risk a mood episode in exchange for a period of relief from medication side effects. And as vain or shallow as it may sound to the uninitiated, the number one side effect of bipolar meds that many of us hate the most is <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/weight-gain">Weight Gain</a>.</p>
<p>Nearly every effective medication for bipolar disorder has <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/weight-gain">Weight Gain</a> as a side effect. However, it is important to remember that not everyone taking a particular drug will experience side effects. NEVER let the fear of a particular side effect prevent you from trying a medication that your doctor (ideally an experienced psychiatrist with specific expertise in bipolar disorder) believes could be helpful for you.</p>
<p>The fact is that we all respond differently to the various mood stabilizers and other medications, and some folks will never gain an ounce. However, weight gain is extremely common, and if you are unhappy with your current weight, it may be relevant for you to ask &#8220;Is my medication making me fat?&#8221; If the weight gain began at the same time as you started taking the meds, the answer is probably yes.</p>
<p>However, in the US and other developed countries, we are in the middle of an obesity epidemic. The issues around weight and bipolar disorder are complex and interrelated. Understanding what is going on in relation to your own weight gain, and turning things around, is going to take concentration and dedicated effort.</p>
<p>Did you start to <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/gain-weight">Gain Weight</a> before commencing medications? There is no shame in it if you did. In fact, it puts you in the majority. 70% of American men and over 60% of women are overweight, and approximately one third of the US population is obese &#8211; and it just gets worse every year.</p>

What we do know is that after being diagnosed and treated, weight management is a huge issue for the bipolar population, with 35% of people with bipolar disorder being obese! This is the highest percentage of any psychiatric illness!</p>
<p>I get more questions about medication and weight gain than anything else, and I KNOW that many people quit taking their medication because they find the weight gain to be so extremely demoralizing. Much as I sympathize with this (and believe me &#8211; I do &#8211; after gaining over 40 pounds I did it myself) it is NOT the answer. Instead, learn about the weight gain/loss implications of the various meds that are used to treat bipolar disorder, and the strategies you can use to maintain your weight at a healthy level where you can feel good about yourself.</p>
<p>So which meds are most likely to cause weight gain?</p>
<p>NOTE: WE ARE ONLY GOING TO LOOK AT PROVEN MOOD STABILIZERS:<br />
1. For risk of HEAVY, MAXIMUM weight gain, and probably diabetes, Zyprexa;<br />
2. For risk of SUBSTANTIAL weight gain, lithium, Depakote, or Seroquel;<br />
3. Those meds that seem to be weight neutral include Abilify, Lamictal, and Tegretol.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be afraid to discuss this with the medical professional who prescribes your drugs. If you have bipolar disorder there are a range of medication options available &#8211; it is perfectly ok for you to ask for one that has fewer side effects and that will not undermine your overall health.</p>
<p>For instance, Zyprexa, a drug manufactured by Eli-Lilly, has, in the last few years, been the target of multiple lawsuits across the country. In particular, it is alleged that taking Zyprexa can cause excessive weight gain and even diabetes. If your doctor recommends Zyprexa to treat your bipolar disorder, talk to him about the risks of these potential side effects and ask about the possibility of a safer alternative.</p>
<p>Ask your doctor politely but firmly about trying Lamictal or Abilify. Sometimes side effects such as panic attacks or the notorious &#8220;Lamictal rash&#8221; will rule these alternative meds out, but usually they are safe to try.</p>
<p>Some doctors offer a cocktail of drugs to help counteract the weight gain. For example Wellbutrin, especially if you are on an anti-convulsant, or Topomax.</p>
<p>What is important is that your doctor be proactive in helping you find medication that stabilizes moods without destroying your overall health through substantial weight gain.</p>

<p>The 2 Different Meanings Of &#8220;Weight&#8221;</p>
<p>When a woman says she wants to gain weight she doesn&#8217;t really want to gain FAT, but she is often frightened of gaining muscle &#8211; and will often say &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to be a bodybuilder or anything&#8221;.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, there are only two ways to gain weight &#8211; in fat or muscle. And the problem with gaining fat is that it often distributes itself unevenly on your body, with little regard to where YOU want it.</p>
<p>Building muscle and making some weight training a part of your weekly workouts is the single best way of how to gain weight for women without getting fat. There&#8217;s no need to frightened of it&#8230;you won&#8217;t end up as a bodybuilder &#8211; in fact women&#8217;s bodies simply don&#8217;t produce enough testosterone to become really muscular.</p>
<p>Also, muscle mass weighs more than fat, so a little extra muscle can make a huge difference in your overall weight.</p>
<p>Avoid The Same Old Cardio Exercises</p>
<p>These are used to burn fat and LOSE weight, not gain it. As mentioned above, the best thing you can do is to add some weights into your routine and starting working past your comfort zone. That is the only way to <a  href="http://www.weightgainpills.org/weight-gaining/gain-muscle">Gain Muscle</a> mass, and thus extra weight.</p>
<p>Loads of repetitions and many sets on light weights won&#8217;t cut it either &#8211; that is better used for toning, and muscular endurance. <p>Increase your protein intake to around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight (so if you weigh 150 pounds then you&#8217;ll need at least 150 grams of protein per day).</p>
