Prepare To Stop Weight Gain
Weight gain can either be hard or easy depending on the person. But personally gaining weight is easy once you know how. Actually, my problem now is how I can prepare to stop weight gain. It’s a good thing I found this article and thus I’ll share it with you.
How to Stop Weight Gain
Weight gain has grown to epidemic proportions in this century in the Western World. The main reason behind this is our bad eating habits.
The modern society is busy, time consuming, and is full of easy food choices for us to make. It’s much simpler to grab something to eat on the way than to cook it yourself.
Unhealthy food which is rich in sugar, sodium, fat and unhealthy carbohydrates may be easy to make and delicious to taste, but, once such food gets into your stomach, it is quickly converted into fat. Add to that our sedentary lifestyle and we have all the makings of becoming the fattest generation in the history of our world.
Here are Some simple tips to help you stop weight gain:
A little planning and some self-control can go a long way in putting a stop to weight gain. Here’s what you have to do:
Build some muscle tissue:
As you get older, your metabolism naturally slows down. So, even if you are eating the same amounts as you used to, you will start putting on weight. To combat that you need to increase your metabolism. The best way to boost up your metabolism is to build muscle. Muscles use up calories even when they are at rest. Resistance training twice or 3 times a week is very important if you want to stay thin.
Eliminate unhealthy habits:
You can stop weight gain by:
- Eating only when you are hungry
– Not watching the TV or talking over the phone while eating
– Eating regular meals and really enjoying your food
– Saying no to second servings. They don’t really make you less hungry.
– Rejecting the temptation to eat leftovers. Usually, what you eat in the first serving is quite enough for you.
– Limiting your intake of alcohol. Alcohol is calorie rich, so cut it down as much as you can.
– Avoiding colas and juices. These drinks are filled with sugar.
– Rejecting simple carbs (like white bread)
Become more active:
This is the best way to use up extra calories. Research shows that people who are fidgety by nature tend to lose weight because of their fidgeting. The moral of the story is that constant motion (or moving around as much as you can) can severely restrict fat buildup because you burn more calories during your day. So, take a walk, climb stairs, lift weights, play with your kids, and do some manual work around the house. Activities keep you busy, take your mind off food, reduce stress, and help you stay thin.
Pay more attention to what is on your plate:
What you put inside your body is the most important factor in determining how much you weigh. Eat more fiber, vegetables, and fruits. Drink lots of water and green teas. When you need a snack, reach out for a fruit or some almonds. They’re much more healthy than chocolate or a candy bar.
Even small improvements in your diet and exercise plan will have an immediate effect on your weight loss efforts. So, take good care of your body.
